As Creative Director, Scott Linnen’s innovative and influential work with leading brands has earned him numerous international advertising awards, including (the) Cannes Grand Prix, Cyber Gold Lion, D&AD Integrated Gold, Webby, One Show, CA, Andy, Obie, London International Awards and the $100,000 MPA Kelly Awards Grand Prize.
Most recently, he received the Integrated Gold Clio, D&AD Integrated Gold and Cannes Cyber Gold for the VW ‘Routan Baby Boom’ work with actress Brooke Shields. The Cannes Grand Prix was awarded the previous year for the Volkswagen GTI ‘UnPimp’ integrated campaign.
Since 2010, Linnen has lead SapientNitro’s interactive marketing and creative teams in helping the company expand beyond its digital client base with integrated AOR wins including Celebrity Cruises, Quiznos and Perry Ellis. In addition to leading the new business go-to team, he is the Interactive CD on Chrysler.
Previously, Linnen was a Vice President, Group Creative Director at Crispin Porter + Bogusky where, over his 16-year tenure, he helped to grow the agency from a small creative boutique of 50 people into an internationally recognized industry leader with over 1000 people and marquee brands such as MINI, Burger King, Volkswagen, Domino’s Pizza, Old Navy and Microsoft.
He is proudest of accomplishments that aren’t awarded chunks of metal in the French Riviera. Being able to spark young talent gives him a buzz. Most of those under his Creative Direction are now noted CDs themselves. Scott lives to make his clients famous. And to build highly collaborative relationships with them. Like the one he and Volkswagen CMO Tim Ellis shared. A relationship that was the catalyst for work that lifted a lagging auto brand and sold cars—even minivans—in the worst economic climate in some three plus decades.
Prior to SapientNitro and CP+B, Linnen worked for Harris, Drury, Cohen and Earle
Palmer Brown. He has a BA in English from Villanova University. And is a graduate
of the School of Visual Arts, NY.
He played Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie’s CD boss on The Simple Life Interns. But, when confronted, swears he was really on The Apprentice.
He paints and creates mixed media art with the other side of his brain, and has been represented at the South Florida Art Center.
